Acclaimed ski mountaineer, guide, and environmental activist Greg Hill will be in Nelson on October 25, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. to speak and present his memoir, I Could Die at Any Moment, a gripping narrative of his life’s most daring adventures and the profound lessons he learned along the way.
Best known for his world record-setting endurance feat of skiing over two million vertical feet in a single year and for making countless first descents in the remote ranges near his home in Revelstoke, as well as in South America, Norway, and Pakistan, Greg Hill’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, passion, and survival in the face of danger. For the first time, Hill shares the untold stories behind his greatest triumphs and close calls, offering a raw and unflinching look at the mental and emotional toll of living life on the edge.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The venue is the Sanctuary space inside the Nelson United Church, located at 602 Silica Street in Nelson. Hill will present photos and read excerpts from the book, which launched earlier this month. Books will be available for sale ($25), and Hill will sign them immediately following the presentation.
